Idk why I keep reading mafia romances LMAO. They’re never good but they’re my palette cleansers.

I've been in a rut lately with the books I've been reading. And after this book, I can say... finally!! I really, really enjoyed this one. The couple's chemistry was sizzling. A meant-to-be couple. I did start with Book 2 first, the blurb caught my attention more, so I was out of the loop with some details. It was still easy to follow. I like the author's writing: flowed well, emotional, detailed, and engaging. I will begin Book 1!

Re-read August 2021

Reaper was even better than I remembered from my first read of it. I am SO glad this series was chosen as a Buddy Read because it allowed me to fall in love with Ronan, and Sasha, all over again. I absolutely adored this book and that was entirely down to the depth of emotion that the author made me feel again, and again, and again.

The story moves with good pace, it definitely had more convincing mafia vibes than [b:Crow|31309440|Crow (Boston Underworld, #1)|A. Zavarelli|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1470064030l/31309440._SY75_.jpg|54506774] and I fell for both main characters really quickly. Reading about Ronan's childhood absolutely broke my heart, I just wanted to hug him and smother him with love. Sasha's devotion to him was the very least that gorgeous man deserved and the fact that she could still offer that after the crappy hand life had dealt her only her more wonderful. This pair both demonstrated great character growth throughout the story, and understood one another in a way that made me envious.

I genuinely don't feel as though I am doing this story justice, all I can say is that it has firmly re-cemented Ronan as my favourite book boyfriend ever, as well as made me fall in love with A. Zavarelli's writing all over again.

Having recently read a mafia based romance, and not liking how the heroine fell for a cold blooded killer, I wasn't sure if this book would be for me. However the characters were so well written that, despite some grim scenes, you could still empathise with them and understand how they lived such a dark life.

I absolutely loved this book, the story flowed really well, the characters built nicely and nothing seemed too far fetched or unrealistic. Whilst at heart this is a romance there was enough background story to make this more than a beach read that is soon forgotten.

I will certainly be purchasing more work by this author.

I loved this book and I loved Reaper. Ronan and Sasha's story made me laugh, cry and despair. Their chemistry is amazing and the love between them can not be described. Not always an easy read but powerful and simply fantastic.

Reaper has maintained its spot in my top three favorite Mafia Romance books. This was a reread for me, but one I enjoyed as much as the first time I read it. It's dark, sensual, and heart-wrenchingly good.

We meet The Reaper in the first book in Zavarelli's amazing series, a quiet, dangerously talented man. In his book, we delve into his mind and backstory and it's an intense, brutal thing to read. His love interest, Sasha, also someone you meet in book one, has her own dark past and secrets she wishes would stay buried--secrets that lead right back to Ronan.

Together, Sasha and Ronan are entwined through bitter circumstances, but they soon have to decide if the other is who they truly want, and need, in their futures.

TW abound. Violence, torture, assault, rape, and cult-like conditioning. This one is dark, as if most Mafia Romance, so tread lightly. But it is also a book full of hope and self-discovery and unmitigated devotion. I highly recommend the Boston Underworld series as a whole.

This was definitely a rather dark book. Not a read or audio-listen for the faint of heart due to the violence. For sure this story is different from any romance I've read so far, due to the dark and violent backdrop. I did the audiobook version. I read that this was a stand alone book and so started with this one first, since the book description was more appealing than book 1, which is why I started with book 2.. I enjoyed it so much that I've actually already bought Crow, book 1 in audiobook.
