So, this actually happened. I finally decided to read this, and what do you know, I really loved it!!! I mean, after the first book, I was pretty adamant about not continuing with the series because of the angst. But no, I honestly didn't mind/notice the angst! I didn't even care that Liz was so... not very decisive.
Maybe it was because I haven't read anything in quite some time so I wasn't being particularly picky. But what I do know for sure is that I can't wait to have more of Brady Maxwell!

3 I LOVE BRADY MAXWELL STARS ✨❤️☺️!!!!
After finishing 'Off the Record', I immediately started 'On the Record'. I had to know how things between Brady and Liz would turn out.
Surprisingly, this book didn't play out the way I expected. It was great, but not what I expected.
If I had to describe my feelings about this book in one word, it would be "conflicted". On one hand, I was glad to see Liz grow a spine and demand more for herself than to be somebody's dirty little secret. Yet, I also felt the pain of their separation.
It was absolute torture to read the first half/ middle of the book because Liz was with Hayden. In the beginning, they really actually kinda cute. But they never had that spark like Liz and Brady.

emotional
lighthearted
Still a little toxic but this was a better read than before.
Spoiler
Second book in the series about a college student who falls in love with a man running for Congress. I think this was my favorite in the series.
Super disappointed in this sequel, won't be spending any money on the third book.
Weird Issues
Where to start? The main character, Liz, is an idiot. I won't go into much detail because spoilers and all of that. My biggest issue with this book involved editing/the author not remembering things she said in the previous book.
Here are two examples that stuck out to me:
1) in the first book, Liz flew first class to Hilton Head. She'd apparently flown first class to visit her grandparents in Hawaii. In the second book, Liz visits Hawaii for the first time...? Not sure why that stuck out to me, but it bothered me quite a bit here.
2) In the first book, Clay bothered Liz about getting her number. This idiot did indeed give him her number. Brady found out from Clay that evening and brought it up to Liz. Yet, in the second book, Brady asked her how Clay got her number???? I don't think that one would be that easy to forget.
I'm going to read the next one even though I seriously hate all of the characters. No one is redeemable for me except for Jamie, who is such a minor character and likely not going to show up again. Even Savannah's reaction at the end rubbed me the wrong way.

I found myself skimming a lot of this book. I never liked Liz and Hayden together and had a hard time dealing with Liz's wishy-washyness in this book. She was with Hayden but constantly thinking of Brady. I reminded myself repeatedly that she was just 20/21 years old and that I was kind of an idiot at that age too. Then there was Hayden. I wasn't prepared for the shift if his character. There were no clues along the way that this was coming and that bugged me.
