i've never been this annoyed by a FL ever. mostly i was skimming through pages. the first book was good but this idk just a mess
Rating: rounding up to 5-stars!
this book picks up after the November election, and finds both Liz and Brady going their separate ways. They attempt to continue their lives without each other, but it becomes increasingly difficult.
I cannot lie: this was such a roller coaster for me. I had so many emotions regarding Liz and Brady's lives (hence, why it earned the 5-stars). Liz goes through so much personal drama, I just wanted to reach out and hug her at times, but I also wanted to slap her at times. Her "Jersey Shore" roommate, Victoria, continues to be a source of laughter and support for Liz (and me too). She actually surprised me a little when push came to shove (in a good way). Hayden -- I have no words for Hayden. And then there is Brady, always hard to figure out, always making the hard decisions and sticking with them. I definitely wanted to slap him - often.
I really did love this book. I was so captivated with where this was going, I read until the words began to blur on the page. I am SO excited to start the last book.

WTF did I just read? So confused. Can't even.
Okay, so most of this book was pretty unnecessary. You could have made a chapter out of it - no need for a full novel at all. It was hard to be invested with the unevenly paced plot, the story felt jumpy because we kept skipping weeks, months of non-events, and it's not like there were many events in the stuff that was detailed! So, we get more extensive descriptions of clothes and haircuts of everyone involved, more obsessive inner monologue...
And then shit just went bananas.Seriously, Brady's brother?
I was annoyed at the whole notion of Liz "walking away" from Brady. She spent most of the book thinking about it, doubting, regretting, feeling noble about stepping aside... Makes me think she's delusional. He dumped her, not the other way around. They were casual fuck buddies, he dictated his terms, time and setting, was pretty disrespectful and told her multiple times not to hope for more. Then one time she left a party early and never heard from him again. Does that sound like she dumped him, or "nobly walked away so that he doesn't have to choose between her and his career"? Nope. Missy, there was never a choice. He was the one who set the dates, and he just stopped setting them.
Also, he started openly dating the equivalent of Liz - a media person/reporter - right after the "walking away" occurred, and somehow that wasn't a problem. Sooo... Yeah, he just didn't give a fuck about Liz and didn't want to openly date her, the rest were excuses.
