I got this for free so I read it first, and it works as a stand alone. The drama was a little annoying back and forth, and at one point it was like the author forgot she wrote them agreeing to be together and had another scene where they agreed to be together. Also, irl Mr. Jacobs would be creepy af for demanding (because he didn’t ask) that from a female employee, but we’ll ignore that for the sake of the rest of the book. Overall a good, fast, easy read.
