Amazing, and I haven’t been able to stop smiling since I finished this book. I live for the single dad and nanny trope but throw in age gap, grumpy sunshine and dash of enemies to lovers and it’s a recipe for perfection! And Asher Whitlock is chefs kiss!!!

Forbidden Hearts follows Asher Whitlock, who desperately needs a nanny fluent in ASL for his deaf daughter, Olivia, after the last one fell through. Phoebe Bettencourt is back in town on break from grad school (as an audiology major), so her father, the chief and Asher’s boss, presents the idea of having Phoebe fill the position temporarily. Asher is hesitant of this, but his daughter is completely smitten with Phoebe. Asher and Phoebe get to know each other and eventually develop an attraction between them that they can’t deny.

What an amazing way to start this month! I adored Phoebe & Asher! Their story was sweet, funny, vulnerable, full of tension, and HOT! I devoured this book! And Phoebe’s relationship with Olivia made my heart swell!

I couldn’t resist this book… age gap, small town romance, AND she’s the nanny. This was my first book by Corinne Michaels and it is not my last. The love Asher has for his deaf daughter (I LOVE the ASL inclusion so much) is heart warming. The character development is amazing. I simply could not put this book down. There was only one character in this book that I didn’t like and you will figure it out when reading. Otherwise all of the characters were amazing, the plot was perfect, and the spice in it was great. I cannot wait to read more by Corinne!!

Forbidden Hearts by Corinne Michaels

Phoebe returns to her small town after something happens during her audiology graduate program hoping to take a break. Turns out the small town cop who is also a single dad, needs a nanny to help with his daughter. Phoebe ends up being the one stepping in to help given she knows American Sign Language (ASL) and his daughter is Deaf. Asher doesn't trust Phoebe but feels he has no other choice. Phoebe and his daughter quickly become close while Phoebe and Asher try to keep things professional. That's easier said than done and once they cross the line they can't stop. The thing is that they are 14 years apart, her dad is Asher's boss, and she plans to go back to graduate school soon.

Corinne has been an author on my to read list for awhile now and I have no good reason for not picking one of her books up sooner. I absolutely adored this book and will definitely be reading more by her soon. There was a good balance of tension, banter, sweet confessions, and spicy moments.

I loved the little it of found family aspect with Phoebe and Asher's daughter, Olivia. Those two were so sweet together and loved messing with Asher which was hilarious. I really like the Deaf representation as well and the use of ASL throughout the book and how it wasn't seen as something that limited Olivia. At the start I had mixed feelings on how much I liked Phoebe but she grew on me throughout the book. Her reason for coming back to her hometown was terrible and I felt so bad for her.

Asher was hot. He's the classic grumpy, small town guy but was super protective of his daughter and had a huge soft spot for her. I loved the internal battle he had with thinking he can't be with Phoebe but doing it anyway. I love how protective he is of the ones he loves.

There was a trope that was snuck in there that I thought was interesting, but I'm not too mad about it. I just was not expecting it.

I had a smile on my face the whole time listening to this. I really loved the story and am glad to pick this one up to read. Cute banter and Asher is a cute single dad, Phoebe just matched him. Phoebe who knows ASL, who has left college early and Asher a Swat leader (works for Phoebes dad) needs a nanny last minute and only wants a Nanny for his 9 yr daughter Olivia.
They knew of each other previously but havent seen each other in 6 years. Asher's cordiale relationship with Olivia's mom was different too in a good way. All the characters were great and Corinne does well adding in some tough subjects. Fast paced beginning to end.

Narrated by: Zachary Webber, Desiree Ketchum were perfect!
