This had all the tropes! Read if you love
- single dad
- small town
- nanny
- age gap

Asher was such a good dad to Olivia, and loves her fiercely. He was hesitant with hiring Phoebe as a nanny, but finding someone fluent in ASL is a challenge in their small town.
Eventually he realized that Phoebe was perfect for his child, and needed more of her.
There was attraction but too many reasons to say they shouldn’t pursue a romantic relationship. Her dad is his boss, he’s older, she’s the nanny, etc etc.

Eventually they cave and agree on a “just for rhe summer” affair.

There is drama with Phoebe’s past, but as the two become closer they overcome their struggles and build a solid foundation for their future

“None of that matters because all I want is you. However I can have you. However you want me, I’m yours.”

This book was amazing. Reading it felt like home, im not sure how to really explain it. I was drawn to it at first bc the MMC is a cop like my husband, and his daughter is Deaf. I have been learning ASL for years and love learning about the culture, so it was really interesting to read about a character who is Deaf.

Phoebe and Asher were perfect. I loved the pace of their story, their chemistry was amazing, and I really appreciated how there wasn’t much miscommunication. I loved watching Phoebe build a relationship with Olivia, becoming an important figure in her life. I also enjoyed seeing Asher being so sweet with his daughter. Asher is such a lovable character and such a wonderful person, him and Phoebe both. I highly recommend this book and am excited to continue the series!

If you're looking for a small town, single dad x nanny, grumpy x sunshine romance with all the feels, then look no further! I adored Phoebe and Asher right from the first page and the chemistry and tension between them was unreal - probably the reason why I love single dad x nanny romance so much hehe. Also, the ASL rep? I LOVED IT. Olivia was the sweetest kid ever and I loved seeing her form a strong bond with Phoebe. Also all those little Easter eggs from Melanie Harlow books made me love Corinne even more and made my small town romance lovin' heart so happy! I can't wait to devour the next books in this series

This was such a delightful little romance

I'm usually not much one for the cop trope, but I enjoyed Asher anyway. Gotta love a grumpy boi™️.
The plot was easy to follow and didn't take too many frustrating twists and turns.
I chose this book on a wim for the series pioneer achievement, and im glad I did. I'm also definitely going to read the rest of the Whitlock family series because I need to know about them.

I absolutely loved everything about this heartfelt, sweet and steamy age gap romance. Sherriff Asher Whitlock is a surly, sexy single dad to a sweet little girl, Olivia. When he was in a bind for a nanny, his boss offered up his daughter for the summer. Phoebe was home early from grad school. She had something horrible happen at school and she came home to regroup and figure out her next move. She wasn't thrilled to work for Asher after all her embarrassing interactions with him growing up, but felt pressured by her dad. She fell instantly for Olivia, but she wasn't going to let the grumpy Asher push her around. They had an antagonistic beginning, but the more time they spent together, the more they saw past their initial impressions, and began to fall for each other. They tried to fight their attraction at first, because of all the complications in their lives, but soon gave in to their undeniable chemistry. They agreed on a secret, 'no strings', temporary affair until she went back to grad school, that way no one gets hurt. But what happens when their hearts become involved? Is their love strong enough to fight for each other when their past secrets come to light, threatening any future happiness they could have? I loved Asher and Phoebe so much! They both are flawed and have their protective walls, but are helpless against the explosive chemistry they share. Asher is grumpy, but caring and protective, so swoony with his little girl, and so deliciously dominant with Phoebe, and she is his perfect match with her strength, passion and easy rapport with Olivia. I loved them together, the push/pull between them, and their passion is off the charts. I was totally engaged in this captivating and emotional romance, and I can't wait for more from the Whitlock Family!

Audible listen narrated by Zachary Webber and Desiree Ketchum.

Not always a fan of age gap romance. The women are usually TOO young and aren’t very developed but I was hoping this one would work. Nope, this was exactly the case for Phoebe. Too immature, too entitled, too dramatic, too little-girly, bratty and even remarks about her own stupidity in the book. So nasty, judgmental and willing to use Olivia for her advancement in her career. It’s a majority her POV.

Asher should RUN!!! Red flags alllllllll over Phoebe. He isn’t the first older guy she has been involved with and the last one had her leaving school. (Note to self, continue to stay away from college aged characters in romance books.)

Asher seems like an everyday guy with the attention span for younger women. Grown man, you need a woman old enough to recognize the symptoms of a stroke!

The first half was great.
The second half was meh.
The last quarter was infuriating.

Heat and heart explode off the page. Michaels tempts the soul with boundary pushing, emotionally stunning romance. Whispers of love echo throughout the canvas of a tempting story. Michaels allows emotion to guide the way. From taboo to tempting there is more than the senses at play. Phoebe and Asher take the heart on a journey of souls that find each other despite the odds.

I would have given this 5 stars if it weren’t for that plot twist. I am all for an accidental pregnancy trope, but this was too far into the book and she wasn’t pregnant with his kid. Not that there is anything wrong with that, but the baby daddy was a master manipulator and perv. And also her PROFESSOR who humiliated her. This whole plot happens way too far into the story and I just couldn’t get past it. It seemed unnecessary. Although, the MMC was super loving and took over the role as the baby’s dad, which was super cute. Love nanny/forbidden romance though.

2.5⭐️- The writing for this was severely lacking? I thought that multiple times as I was reading. I just wasn’t crazy about the characters either.
