I absolutely loved the relationship between Phoebe and Asher. But I especially loved Phoebe and Olivia's relationship that grew in such a short amount of time. They grew so close in a very short amount of time.
Phoebe and Asher were off to a rocky start but it got better over time. While they danced around their feelings for awhile, they eventually gave in to what they really wanted. I loved how he was willing to accept her past and not run away during the twist and leaver in the past. He wanted to take it all in and accept it for their relationship to continue. I LOVED this.

Phenomenal Story!!
I was hooked by the summary but what really sold it was when I saw the author’s note. I am passionate about sign language and have enjoyed getting to know the people in the deaf community.
When I saw that this story includes a deaf character, discussions about deaf culture and includes both signing and speaking, not to mention how well it portrays such things, I immediately dove in and I’m glad I did.
Asher and Phoebe are hot as hell together and their combined ability to be such good friends, lovers and parents to Olivia makes for a fantastic read.
The depth was incredible, the characters were so real and tangible and I love me a protective alpha male. Asher fits that to a t with a marshmallow center. The way he took care of Brynn and then went after his ex best friend on Phoebe’s behalf was *chefs kiss*.
There’s so much more I could say but overall this is a definite 10/10 and a must read again.

Asher Whitlock has a great relationship with the mother of his child, they just don't love each other. So when she is going away for five months on business, Asher needs to get a nanny. Their daughter Olivia is deaf and communicates via ASL, so when the nanny agency's hire suddenly quits, this leaves Asher in a predicament, one that his boss seems to think he can solve! Phoebe is the daughter of Asher's boss, is studying speech pathology and knows ASL, so this could be the answer to Asher's dilemma, but the last time Phoebe babysat, Olivia cut her hair off and so he doesn't feel very confident that this will be any better! but that was six years ago and Phoebe has grown up - A LOT! As the tension between the two rises, it becomes impossible to ignore and eventually, and inevitably combustion happens. This is not the end to the drama as one after another, the hits keep on coming.
This book was amazing. The characters kept you engaged so you wanted to see them happy and when things went awry, you prayed for a solution. The secondary characters were amusing and you could feel the work that went into making this feel like a family. Ms. Michaels keeps the story moving along, so there are no slow spots and the book comes to a heart melting end! Thoroughly recommend and looking forward to the next in the series.

Grumpy sunshine, age gap, single dad, small town, cop, ASL rep… need I say more?! This book was a warm hug. The banter was everything, the spicy scenes were perfection and the small town vibes made me want to move asap. I flew through this book and highly recommend to anyone that wants a feel good romance with no third act breakup! 4.5⭐️
Corinne Michaels also knows how to hit my trope buttons. I am so in love with this new series already.
Single dad, age gap, small town, grumpy/sunshine AND forbidden. Check, check, check, check and YES Ma’am!
First, I would like to bring up the ASL representation - I was blown away with how inclusive, how much care, love and thought were brought to make sure we all knew that Olivia was hearing impaired but she as strong, she was funny, and she was incredible. I adored how ASL strengthened the relationship between Olivia and Phoebe.
Corinne also did such a great job of showing that there doesn’t always need to be drama with co-parenting. Asher and Sara were wonderful teammates which made them wonderful parents.
Olivia - Back home in Sugarloaf trying to find her new path, finds herself being voluntold that she needs to help a single dad with his daughter until he’s able to find a new nanny. Having already had a bad run in with this dad while babysitting - she’s a little weary but determined to make it known that she’s not that teenager anymore. Olivia was so much fun to read. She was strong, determined to find herself, and just made everyone around her fall in love.
Asher, the best dad. Hands down one of the best dads that I have ever read. He was so caring, attentive, and protective. He was just as grumpy as he could be, and I loved it. The way he connected so quickly to Phoebe when he saw the love, she had for Olivia was so powerful to read.
I loved the little visit into Cloverleigh Farms! Hope to see more of that in this series!
