I was too old to read this book when it first came out, and now I am old enough. It’s beautiful, and it made me cry.

The movie is on tv right now and I totally forgot this book existed. Did anyone else read it in 4th grade? I don’t remember if I actually liked it or not

I haven't read this book since, oh, probably third grade? Maybe a little older? I do remember enjoying it, learning a lot about the prairie and settlors, and also being very emotionally involved with the characters. I think its a good book for kids to connect with on an emotional level... man I need to read this again, its a Kindle daily deal, I don't even have kids but maybe I'll pick it up for some nostalgia.

I received this book as a gift from a workshop I attended. This book has a wonderful story. Stories of daily life are my faves that's why I enjoyed this one. It's a children's book, so the language for my level is a bit basic. Other than that, I liked this emotional and feel-good gem.

Very sweet. A lovely story, not clichéd either. And I love anything where the setting is the prairie.

Simplistic and not my cup of tea, but good for intermediate esl students.
