I loved this book as a child, but when I re-read this today I SUPER loved it. Now I must read every book this author has ever written, IMMEDIATELY.

This was so short that I didn't really feel that I got to know the characters very well. I listened to the audio, which sounded a bit dated with the random music effects. I will probably listen to the next book in the series when it's available at the library

Sarah Plain and Tall exceeded my expectations! This book is 58 pages with a moderately large font. It took me about an hour to finish it. It's about a family who lost their mother and their father is looking for a wife. Sarah Plain and Tall comes into their life from far away and charms the pants off the whole family. And they're worried about if she'll decide to stay or go back home. Never in my life would I think that a book so small and with so few pages could be so wonderful. I am so glad that I found it because of booksandLala. I know it's intended for a younger audience but I absolutely adored it.

Lovely story for both boys and girls.

This was a heart-warming story about a father who makes an advertisement for a wife and mother. His advertisement is answered by Sarah Elizabeth Wheaton of Maine, who agrees to come for a month at first. Anna and Caleb both wait for her arrival, and they wonder what she will be like. When she does arrive, they begin to wonder if she will stay.

This was a beautifully written story set in the late 1800s, and the prose of the story creates such a wonderful picture that it is easy to see why it has received as much praise as it has. I listened to the audiobook, which was narrated by Glenn Close. She did a wonderful job with the narration, and it was a great listen.

A reread of one of my favorites from when I was a kid. This gentle book touches on plenty of heavy themes such as death, loss and fear of abandonment. It is definitely not an action-packed, plot-heavy book but is sweet and worth reading.

Must reread to review

A tender and touching story about family, bond and love. Didn’t strike me at all, but still found it nice to read.
