Mostly minor complaints but I didn't necessarily love any of the characters. I didn't really feel much of a connection to any of them. I liked Bog tho. The different types of magic were interesting and I wasn't sure who was lying at one point. I did want to keep picking up the book so I'd still recommend it as a pallet cleanser between books.

Gravebriar

Casey Bond has woven an intricate world with so many details it leaves the reader reeling initially. The characters in Gravebriar are endearing and leave the reader guessing on intentions the entire story. The details and world-building are astounding. I’m unsure one could walk away having only read this book once as there’s assuredly something you’ll find that’s brand new every time.

This book was so cute and so magical. They did a great job of world building and keeping you on your toes. I would certainly recommend this to someone who loves fantasy but needs a break from 5 book series (that are also amazing).

Decent short book, I liked the characters and the story but it felt like it lacked the deeper storyline I was looking for

I loved the magic and the unique plot to this book, but it ended up dragging along in parts and there were a couple of plot holes that were not explained well. I got this for free on a "stuff your kindle day" though and was pleasantly surprised!

"Gravebriar" is a young adult fantasy novel centered around Castor, a teenage witch living in a society that persecutes magic users. When Castor's powers are discovered, she becomes a pawn in a deadly game and must navigate betrayal and intrigue to survive. The story combines elements of magic, romance, and rebellion, offering a thrilling and atmospheric tale of a young witch's struggle for freedom in a hostile world.

The author’s writing style was fantastic, and the storyline was sweet. I’ll definitely be reading more books from Casey.
