I knew this book sounded too good to be true. I KNEW it and still proceeded to read it.
The plot was very predictable. The ending felt rushed and honestly? I didn’t enjoy this …
There was almost no chemistry between the characters tho I have to admit I liked the way the dialogue was written sometimes.
Speaking about the writing: why in gods name would you write historical fiction and make it historically inaccurate??
Especially when it’s about Jack the Ripper but oh well I don’t know, you just change the whole thing? Because why not? I just.. i have no words to describe how this failed all my expectations.
I can only hope the next books will be better even tho I’m most definitely not going to read them

I found this book, back when I read it years ago, to be quite enjoyable and it actually is what got me back into reading. I really enjoyed the chemistry and clean YA romance for the age I was, and the mystery was enthralling. I also loved how the author touched on sexism in such a vital era in the world and how that affected the protagonists development. However, I found the plot twist to be a bit out of left field and perhaps a reread would be beneficial, but the ending, imo, fell flat to me.

Me encanta.

I mean... I liked the premise. But other than that I'm just surprised I finished

(English is not my first language). The main character, Audrey Rose, is often inconsistent and insufferable. The love interest, Thomas, makes me understand why it's better if Sherlock Holmes considers women a distraction. The main idea is really interesting, but I think it could've been written way better. I'm kinda disappointed because I had high expectations.
