First book recommended to me in 2019!

I liked this story a lot. It wasn't a thriller and it didn't have a heart-racing pace. There's an analogy in the story about truth being like buried water and no matter what you do, it will always find a way to the surface. The plot of this book is like that as well. There's nothing sudden, but page after page, more and more is revealed until you have all the pieces.

It was slow, but satisfying. I loved the characters; they each had a unique voice and motivations. This was more a tale of resiliency and peace in the day-to-day and coming to terms with who you are in your current situation, which I found to be refreshing.

I loved how this book alternated between Water’s POV in the present (and her coping with her new life without any memory of her old life) and Jesse in the past with events leading up to Water’s assault. It is a unique storytelling experience - each chapter peals away another layer of the onion until you get to the whole truth.

K.A. Tucker is one of the few authors I go back to when it comes to NA. I have come to enjoy her writing, and her stories has evolved into solid structures that it is far from all NA cliches.

I enjoyed this book, it was a refreshing read amidst everything that happened to our main girl. It's not a shallow back story too, I would say it's solid to argue.

My peeve on this story is that 90% into it and when every loop hole was explained, I felt somewhat cheated. I mean it was a good build up, although clearly even in the beginning, we already know what happened to her-- what happened after is the issue. Cheated in a way that the situation became convenient for every character. I am not condoning all things that went down, but how handy must it have been Water to get what she wants. You deserved it. Yes. But it's not every day that everything goes to the you want it to be. That sounds bitter but it's my two cents. ;)

Great listen by KA Tucker. This book has more suspense than romance. But I still enjoyed. Alex's story was gut wrenching. But I'm so glad that Alex & Jesse got their HEA. Amazing Narration by Elizabeth Louise & Josh Goodman (he's a new to me narrator)

I liked this. It has mistery, it has action and tension, it has a love story.
Jesse is particularly lovely, despite his questionable decisions. Him and Alex are quite a cute couple, despite their awful history and tangled mess they put themselves in.
It was an enjoyable read.

This book was definitely intriguing. It was hard to try to keep up with the past and present, that's not one of my favorite things in a book, but it was captivating. Jesse and Alex's romance was odd, especially watching them fall in love, and then fall in love again. It was hard to have that going back and forth. I did love the characters and the character development. Ginny in particular was a real gem. 3.5 out of 5 stars.

At first when I got into the story I was a little amused by the choice of name the main character gives her self after suffering memory loss. Water. But after a while I got used to it and I enjoyed the story overall, had a nice mystery and excitement to keep me entertained for a while and the romance was cute and intriguing. Definitely want to know what happens in the next book

Wow! That was such a great book! At first I found myself confused from the alternating POV that was also alternating past and present but as soon as I got a grip on what was happening the story began unfolding beautifully!!!! Highly recommend.
