After the invasion and devastation of Earth by the rapacious Ocrevv, the only safety available to a woman is to be married off to a compatible alien. Melody agrees to this, and is sent via shuttle to her new home. Unfortunately, she is mistakenly dropped off on a prison planet, run by the hated Ocrevv, and her only protection is in the hands of an Ocrevv prisoner, Daqk.
Melody and Daqk are strong and resourceful characters, and the story of their time together is full of deepening understanding and care. I highly recommend this quick read.

This is a short novella that I was quite satisfied with. I've read other marriage match alien romances, and I liked the twist of this one having the would-be bride being taken to the wrong planet.
I feel like we got to know each character well enough in a short amount of time. I would have liked to have had a full novel with the two of them, but I have no complaints with how this story went. I look forward to reading more by this author.
The MMC is a cinnamon roll. The FMC steps in to help when danger is around, which I liked.
