Funny and sweet! The characters were very lovable and it was a joy to see them interacting. The story also touches on serious topics like alcoholism and child neglect, which show the effects on the child. It's beautiful to see her growth throughout the story though.

I went into the bookstore hoping to pick up another book by this author to read on the bus home. I couldn’t find that book so I bought this instead… now I don’t want to read the other book for fear it won’t live up to the expectations Ciara Smyth has set. I read ‘Not My Problem’ in about nine hours because I couldn’t put it down. Smyth was able to balance heavy and unnerving topics with the whimsy and naivety of the teenage mind perfectly. The ending was slightly rushed and I wish we saw even more of Aideen and Meabh’s relationship but other than that this was a near-perfect coming-of-age book (and the author did not shy away from using the word ‘lesbian’ so extra points for that).

incredibly charming book, i loved every second of this. i think it is easy to fall in love with this book. a highlight for me was all the different characters, who were just so wonderful in their own ways. highly highly recommend the audiobook, sarah jane drummey is a phenomenal narrator and she injects so much life into the characters while you’re listening.

Such a cute book. Relatable to basically everyone on the planet and such a cute love story that is actually realistic in terms of what high schoolers go through and how they actually are.

This was very similar to The Falling in Love Montage from problems with parents to characterization. I just like Smyth debut book better even though this was good.
