Brief but entertaining, a good thing to read whilst flying into JFK!

If you have ever lived in New York, visited New York, loved New York, hated New York, daydreamed about New York...you need to read this book.

If Colson Whitehead adapted The Colossus of New York into a monologue, it would be a massive hit on Broadway and Netflix.

Great book to start the year with. The essays and mini stories are really fun to read. More observations and steam of consciousness thoughts, than meaningful elements. When you take the totality though, it really tells a story of New York City and what it's like to be there in various times, settings and functions.

*making j*rk-*ff motion* WE get it, you have a THING for New YORK City!!
I know this came out much closer to 9/11 and the cultural relationship to the city was much different, but still.
