I really enjoyed this book and learning about the Islamic revolution through the eyes of a teenage girl. Her coming of age in this time was very well written. I think people should read this since it’s a very digestible way to learn about the Islamic revolution.

I really enjoyed this book overall, probably a 3.5 rather than just a 3, but not quite a 4. The art is simplistic but impactful, and the story is touching. I found the first half of the book to be more captivating, but unfortunately, I found myself pushing through the final third. It was interesting learning about a topic I had little exposure to previously, which I now hope to read more widely on.

Marjane Satrapi has crafted something brilliant and unique. One of those rare books where the 5-star rating feature feels too restrictive to do the book justice. Will be thinking about and going back to this book for a long time to come
