Impressionante. Imagens simples mas um conteúdo vivido, forte e sofrido.
Nunca tinha lido uma banda desenhada tão real.
A ler Persepolis 2.

Very informative in an easily-consumable manner. Many parts felt like a gut punch.
"Persepolis: The Story of a Childhood" is a deeply moving graphic novel that offers a personal account of its author, Marjane Satrapi, growing up amid the tumultuous period of the Islamic Revolution in Iran. The narrative is brought to life through Satrapi's striking black and white illustrations, which not only capture the chaos of her youth but also inject a sense of humor and lightness into an otherwise heavy story.
While the narrative is deeply personal, it provides a window into the wider political and social dynamics of Iran, many of which were previously unknown to me. The experience of viewing the world through Satrapi's eyes was enlightening and has deepened my understanding of the complexities of life in a country that is often misunderstood by the outside world.
However, while I found the graphic novel captivating, I couldn't help but notice that Satrapi seemed to live a life of privilege compared to most Iranians around her during that time. Despite this, the book has sparked an interest in me to learn more about the Islamic Revolution, and I am keen to delve deeper into this complex and intriguing period of history.

This one flew by! Never stopping to let you wonder how things might go, Persepolis is a never ending series of events that you want to be optimistic about, but feel like you should know better. Incredibly told, and a great insight into lesser known events (over in the U.S. specifically) from a first hand perspective.
