Beautifully devastating. This book will crush your heart to pieces with each unnecessary apology or

swipe of a razor blade

yet it is still heartwarmingly radiant of love at some parts . It is masterfully written and immersive although slow paced. Please check content warnings before reading. This book has honestly changed my life

It is difficult to rate this book because it seems more than a piece to just be critiqued. The connection to all characters and the pain, joy and grief you feel at every moment makes it feel personal, sometimes too personal. I have neve read anything like A Little Life and don’t know if there is anything that could ever compare but I will treasure this story forevermore.

This took me a month to read. Usually I can finish a book in a matter of days but this took a while because of its really heavy content. Albeit I read and finished other books while this one lay incomplete, it still gets a 5 stars from me. I am a sucker for a sad story and this one most certainly delivered. For the last 50 pages I was just crying my eyes out. Literally sobbing. I would never recommend anyone to read this. I would never suggest to inflict the same pain this caused me, however, this is a literary masterpiece and one of my favourite books.
