dark relaxing tense

Omg! I cried, I laughed, I was happy, I was angry, all of it! The romance feels very YA but otherwise I really enjoyed this book so much.

The love stories in this one dragged a little for me. The will-they-won’t-they just got repetitive. I still like this whole world and scenario, tho- I like the magic and all the different groups/creatures. Elloren is finally finding herself instead of crying all the time. Ha! And the narration is EXCELLENT. I don’t feel the grip to get the next one immediately but I definitely will listen to more in this series.

After finishing the first of this series, I’m completely smitten and hooked and had to know what would happen.

I’m shattered after this one and eagerly starting the next in the series as well as tandem reading the prequels to learn about Ellorens parents and Sage’s story.

This book had me feeling all the feels…. For the lupines, icarals, fae, selkies, and more.

I had a feeling from the beginning about how Yvan and Elloren may go, but man let me just say the last 3rd of the book was riveting and I had to finish it! I seriously just want to read to where I’m going to wrap this review up and go do that. Do yourself a favor and read this series!!!

Holy Ancient One!

“Welcome to the Resistance”

How can I fairly sum up this book? I can’t. If I really think about the main major things that happened in this book there’s not a lot, but at the same time so many.

This book is definitely a builder book, setting you in for the long haul. There is definitely action and some problems being solved but it focuses way more intently on character and relationship building.

It’s disheartening to see people’s quick judgments and reviews on this book, not taking into consideration that there’s set to be 5 books in total with a running theme of 500+ pages. You can’t have all action all of the time in a series like this, there would be no depth to the story.

Again I loved this book as much as the first, it pulled at my heart and continued to make me overjoyed and then break me time and time again. I didn’t want to put it down (and honestly didn’t until I was finished) Do I think it was the perfect second book? No, but I think it’s perfect for this story and will only add to what’s to come.

I am loving this series. Very interesting and diverse world. I really enjoyed the relationships that continued to form between the group of main characters. The story is definitely taking off. People are having to choose sides and decide what they are willing to  stand for. Excited to see our FMC continue to develop her powers. Gotta love a story where the future of the world hinges on the backs of a group of young people!

This book was a bit of a drag for me - I felt that the plot kept taking unnecessary breaks and it just didn’t keep me interested. I’m still intrigued by the overall story, but I’m not as anxious to read the next one.
