A reportage from Gabo. Nothing mesmerizing.

Not my usual thing, but very well done! There was a bit at the end I found interesting that I wouldn’t have minded there being more of, but I think it was well done how it was :)

Update: After some time has passed I’ve found the story has had a greater impact on me than I originally thought it did. I take it back, I’m glad the ending was done exactly how it was and have raised the rating from 4 to 4.5. There are still parts I found dry and boring to get through, but now I see why it was like that, and I have a respect for what this story accomplishes.

It tells the story of a shipwrecked sailor.
Took about 60 quick pages  to get into it.
It was about 100 pages short. Je

Very well-written and an easy read, even though it's not in my native language. This is the first book I've read by Gabriel García Márquez, so I can't compare it to his other books, but I imagine that it's quite different given that it's a non-fictional account of a castaway rather than the magical realism he's known for.
While I can't think of anything particularly special about the book, it was solid. An enjoyable way to practice Spanish, but reading this won't be life-changing.
