A.L. Jackson has once again broken my heart and put it all back together again. With her poetic words, she has woven heartache, loss, love (SO much love), steam and action - with a strong hero and an equally strong heroine (YES!) - into a story that will stay with you long after the last page is read. You will have all the feels with this spectacular story and be dying for more. Add in an element of the forbidden with a hero who was a former member of a motorcycle gang, a heroine who fights for those she loves, and the absolutely sweetest child you have ever met and you have a must have read for the fall!
Eden is in trouble. She needs money to help her father save his world - the school they both work for. She takes a risk and applies to work at a club on the other side of town, a place she should not be, Absolution. Bar owner Trent does not know what has hit him. Surrounded by darkness, Eden walks in and refuses to be turned away. She is light and goodness in his world of shadows. From here, the story takes off and hours later, you'll discover that you've been sitting on your couch, your day is gone, and you regret nothing. (Yeah, true story.) When I say this is a book you won't be able to put down, you really won't be able to. Dive into an angsty, steamy love story with strong characters, a plot that will keep the pages turning, and lose yourself to the page.

4.5⭐️ incredible book loved it so much the plot twist, could kind of see it coming but it was still spectacular! Highly recommend this book, although the writing style wasn’t my favourite. It was A LOT of metaphors and description and less dialogue but still great!
dnf @ 58% too many words, repeat phrases, whole book feels like filler. Found myself just skimming and skipping pages to try and find some plot. Ended up just looking up the twist.
i guess the story line was good. The author kept repeating sentences eg:
*Everything.
Everything. *
It’s good way to add emphasis, but it was used too much.

Holy WOW! Give Me a Reason is the start of a new series for AL Jackson and I am in LOVE!
This author has a writing style like no other and I loved every word poured into this book. This MC romance features a teacher, Eden, looking for extra work and when she stumbles into the bar Trent owns it is insta love for these two. Being that a work place is now involved they both fight it but when the feelings consume them both the pages definitely heat up!
Eden is a fabulous character; a good girl trying to do the right thing but fighting for what she wants. Trent is a truly conflicted alpha hero with the heart of gold AND he is a single Dad. Swoon! Their hea is hard won but I loved every part that went into that fight for them to be together. Can't wait for more in this series!

Alright this book proves it, I do in fact really like the single parent trope and I desperately want more of it.
Eden is the embodiment of all things good and kind. Not only is she a kindergarten teacher, she is also a preachers daughter who oversees the Sunday school class. She finds herself in a position where she needs to take on a job as a local club/bar to help her family out. And who would own the club/bar other than our hot tattooed former MC bad boy? Trent is a dad first and foremost who would do anything to keep his son safe. He and Eden have an instant connection that sizzles off the page. Though they try to stay away from each other the pull is just too strong and they give in to what they feel.
I was not prepared for the twist towards the end of the book, I can truly say that it came out of left field and I in no way anticipated it.
Overall I enjoyed this read, I liked Eden and Trent. At times I felt the good girl X bad boy “we can never be together” was a little too leaned into but overall it is a very fun MC adjacent romance novel! I can’t wait to read more of A. L. Jackson’s work!
