No sos vos, Eva, soy yo.
¡A saber!

Gay sex and mortality, need I say more?

I love this book. Super lyrical writing (needed to engage brain to follow). Our main gal is very funny and I love her inner monologue, especially her savage takedowns of her family (“Being the bearer of important news: The only climax mom has ever known” I DIED). Parallelled by an absolutely savage but fitting ending which gives some hope for character development, very cute relationship with her niece.

I love how ambivalent she is about death for 99% of this book. The mole journey had me kekeing what an icon. Also some really excellent writing about her relationships and especially the feelings that they instilled in her. Reminiscent of ‘The Details’ by Ia Grenberg

Also, s/o to the translators note at the end for nuggets of wisdom! How the rhythm of the prose was so important to Eva Baltasar for the translation. Also, finding the right metaphors for all of the poetic prose. Also, discussions on ‘cunt’. Sounds crazy difficult to action this but Julia Sanches has written it to sound effortless
