Luck sucks!

Bad days are always so difficult to deal with especially when you are younger but I am glad she realised it and with the help of the family turned it around. The apologies were a great touch that I really liked. It was fun and easy read!

"Best book ever. It was amazing. It made me sad when she got mad at her friend. My favorite part was when she finally got ice cream with her brothers. I loved this book because Karen is happy at the end, but she is sad in the beginning." - my 7 year old reading buddy

Ok, that was super cute. I loved how sweet Sam and Charlie were to Karen.

I relate to Karen because I too throw a massive fit when a place is out of the food I want

This book was okay. I think the other set of graphic novels about the babysitter club is better. I know Karen is six, but she was just very unlikeable in this book. I do love the illustrations though!

Maybe it's just the serial nature of the series, but I feel like there have been some missed opportunities to bring storylines full circle within each book. It's been a million years since I read the chapter books, so I'm not sure how much leeway the adaptations have; maybe this is an issue that existed in the original books. Either way, my daughter enjoyed reading the story and tells everyone she talks to about how Karen broke her arm roller skating. :) I took the opportunity to point out some of the larger messages and we both enjoy the illustrations. We're looking forward to #4 this summer!
