The Cadaver Chronicles was a wild book of zombie short stories and novella. Most of them were fun and a couple had a little touch of sadness.
I thought each story was well written and entertaining in its own way. I like some of the twist some of them had at the ending.
To be honest, this put me in an adult version of Goosebumps, vibe. Only, more gooey goriness, of course.
“A trying time” and “Riser” are my favorites.

A collection of the author’s undead tales.
My favourite story was The Glass Coffin: Tyler made me so so mad! He definitely got what was coming to him, although I felt bad for his poor wife & daughter.
Second fav story was Slappy Cancels Christmas: a bleak snapshot into the lives of Santa’s Elves. Essentially slave labour (complete with whips and overseers), Slappy is unhappy with his job. Soon he starts a revolution via zombie elf apocalypse. This was a fun short story to read, especially during the holiday season! I would love to see this become a movie or graphic novel!
“There were a few Elves that didn’t share in the Christmas cheer. These Elves were usually ushered away and were never heard from again. Their fatal flaw had been speaking out against the holiday.”
One thing is for sure, the author has quite the vivid imagination to create these fantastic stories! I would say the only reason I didn’t give this collection a higher rating was that not all the stories were at the same calibre as the two I mentioned above.

4.5 Stars out of 5.
I loved this collection of short stories, it is a great mix of story types, there is a few George A. Romero '... of the dead' style stories, there is a grim and fun Christmas elf story, and a something a bit lighter, with a monster squad feel, and then the last story was a emotional style story.
The beauty of the different story types, is that each story works like a palate cleanser for the next story.
The writing was smooth and easy to read, and I already have more of his books to read.
I highly recommend this to all my fellow Zombie fans.

A sweet little collection of short zombie stories + one story of a pandemic without zombies but with a superhero.
Most of the stories center tragic characters, the ones that don't make it (or in one instance the only one to make it) so if you're looking for stories where it all goes to shit, you might just find this one to your liking.
There were also quite a few lines that had me cackling, so it's not all doom and gloom (or rather it is but with good humor).
