The story was just okay for me. I was hoping for more out of character with such an interesting name.

Excellent, five stars. Deeply deranged and very gross. If your kid is pretty weird, and you worry that maybe they're *too* weird, I recommend this book. I don't think I was weird enough for this book yet as a kid, but I absolutely loved it as an adult. I would definitely recommend this to other adult readers, too. Just entertaining as all get-out.

So oddly amusing. Admittedly this took me a bit to get into, but once I did it had me hooked.

This was beyond ridiculous, and I loved it. Fovea suffers from the side-effects of her parents' occupation: owners of a cadaver lab. In true middle-school fashion, she is eviscerated by friends and enemies alike because of her family's oddity, and finds herself facing a summer as her parents' receptionist. Things quickly go awry in the best possible way.

Fovea must put everything on the line for three guys she just met. Will she come out ahead? There's the possibility of rekindling lost friendship, establishing new friends, and connecting with her one-foot-in-the-grave grandmother. Also featured: late-night recording sessions, getaways on a motorized scooter, and bowling.

Potentially satisfying for those interested in Adam Rex or Jasper Fforde, or any story or author with an absurd sense of humor.

This book was a very light and fast paced read. There were many funny bits to it as well. Overall an easy book to fall into, but no major take aways or life lessons. The plot is very minimal but if your looking for a fun book to sink into, this isn’t a bad shout.

Took me a few chapters to buy in, but once I did, I laughed my way through the rest of the book. I’ll tell you what, I’ve never read a middle grade novel with this particular setting or plot. It’s weird and gross and funny and refreshing. In some ways, the oddness of the whole thing seems to me to echo the crazy emotional ride that is middle school. I’d recommend this one.
