Unpopular opinion, I quite enjoyed this one and I don’t know why. I thought it was interesting to get backgrounds on all these characters and I really enjoyed reading it through other people’s perspectives. I don’t know I feel like it was quite necessary to the book series, but you could also read the series without it? I don’t know but I like it.

Okay, so i'm going to start this review off by saying that i don't think i like most of the after series. Hardin's character is extremely manipulative, narcissistic, wannabe badass frat boy, and Tessa is an extremely judgmental, "i'm not like other girls", slut shaming, in her own perfect world, childlike girl, and that it's a former one direction fan fiction and it REALLY shows in the writing style.
the only things i really did like in the series is their character development, and a lot of the supporting characters.
But i will say i did enjoy the format of this book, with the perspective being on harding for most of it, and i really enjoyed the beginning section where the chapters were in Hardin's previous hook-ups perspectives. other than that, i don't think this book has much else to offer you

Overall, it was okay. I’ll break it down based on the parts of the book.
PART ONE: This was mainly backstory on a few side characters (Molly, Steph, etc).
PART TWO: A lot of it was just reiterating what already happened in Book 1 but from Hardin’s point of view.
I did like getting to see Hardin’s POV and thoughts behind certain events but it was hard to stay interested enough to want to keep on reading.
PART THREE: I really enjoyed this part of the book because I felt that this is where most of the new content is. You get some more Hessa content (post book 4), and some POV chapters from Zed, Landon, Christian, & Smith where you get a slight glimpse into their lives after the fourth book.
So if you’re uninterested in re-reading events from the first book, I’d recommend just reading Parts One & Three.

3.5/5 STARS!
This book being told from Hardin's perspective and highlighting some of the side characters lives was very interesting, but not necessary I felt like. I had a hard time enjoy the novel when it came to the parts of characters I was fond of. I didn't care about Molly's backstory or them trying to give her a redemption for being a shitty person. Just wasn't that into it.
