I don't know if the order this story was told in worked for me, especially a choice close to the end. But overall, a decent read.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5
“We’ve never been friends Lilah.”
I loved this book so much! The chemistry between Lilah and Shane was so good, their bickering back and forth. Wondering if they were going to get together or not.
I highly recommend!

Summary :
Lilah Hunter and Shane McCarthy are madly in love—at least, their characters are. As the stars of the hit paranormal TV show Intangible, Lilah and Shane spent years pining for each other onscreen . . . until Lilah ditched the show at the end of season five in hopes of becoming a movie star. With no such luck, she’s back to film the much-hyped ninth and final season, in which Lilah and Shane’s characters will get together at last.
But coming back means facing one of the biggest reasons she left: Shane. Ever since their secret behind-the-scenes fling imploded at the end of season one, the two of them have despised each other.
Now reunited on set for the first time in years—with the world’s eyes on them and their post-show careers on the line—they’ll have to grit their teeth and play nice. But under pressure to give Intangible’s fans the happy ending they’ve been waiting for, Lilah and Shane are forced to get closer than ever. And if they’re not careful, they might just get blindsided by one final twist: a real-life happy ending of their own.

First thought: Caution this book gives whiplash the love hate between Shane and Lilah is strong; but it’s also too good and you can’t put it down and want to read this over and over again.
This story is a dual timeline and POV. That follows the two main characters Shane and Lilah on a decade long journey of discovery, hate, growth and love.
For Shane it was love at first site when he locked eyes with her at the auditions for what would turn into the career of a lifetime. Shane came to LA with no goals of becoming an actor but he was discovered while he was waiting tables and thanks to his insta chemistry with Lilah he landed a role on his first try.
For Lilah it was not love but definitely attraction, hot undeniable pull that made their interactions extreme. She discovered acting in childhood as it helped her cope with her anxiety, she did theater in hs and studied it at Juilliard in college. She worked her butt off to be discovered and to break into the industry.
After filming the pilot and having it picked up for the first season Shane and Lilah find themselves in a hotel bar after the launch party and can’t resist the pull between them any longer. They spend the first season filming in their blissful bubble hiding their relationship. After a drunken night they awaken with couple tattoos in the shape of ghosts on their hips and Lilah freaks out. Shane is in love and Lilah doesn’t want more more, so they end it.
The feud between the two begins and oh man it’s intense, passionate and burns hot. Tensions run high as they film 3 more seasons of the show. Lilah decided to break away and try out staring in a movie but it flops bad. A few years pass and she find herself back on the set with Shane making a comeback for the final season farewell of the series. Sparks continue to fly!
To find out what happens and if they continue as lovers, enemies, coworkers read this book when it launches on June 27th.

Back for season nine of their paranormal prime time show, clashing costars (and former lovers) Shane and Lilah are working together for the first time in several years after Lilah’s failed attempt at movies. As the season goes on, their hatred for each other begins to thaw and the reader really starts to see why the title is named: will they or won’t they? Their history is angst-filled - this is such a slow burn and I LOVED it. I recommend this to readers of romance who love a second chance, forced proximity, and fans of Abby Jimenez and Lucy Score!

I’m surprised I liked this as much as I did. It went on a bit too long though.
My poor heart...how to you leave a reader battered and bruised and also filled with bursts of joy? I personally have no clue but Ava has the recipe. I've heard that How to Fake It in Hollywood is similarly if not more...so it's going on my TBR immediately.
Lilah is hard to love sometimes (aren't we all) and at times, it drags the story out. Shane's selflessness is a little much at times, but the greatest thing about them both is how human they are (minus when the supernatural TV part is at play).
Thank you to NetGalley for the opportunity to read Will They or Won't They in exchange for my review.
