Reread, upped to 5⭐ I really think this might be a perfect second-chance romance book
-
Looking at other reviews, this book seems to be dividing people. If you're looking for a fluffy romance where it's all a big misunderstanding and no-one really does anything wrong, this isn't the book you want. These characters are flawed and believable and it makes the story all the better because of that. Really enjoyed this - it's my first book by this author and I'll definitely be reading more!

This was a good second chance lovers. I never really like Lilah. I wanted to. She just never did it for me. I really did end up liking them together tho. I did find the pacing a little weird. It wasn’t bad and I don’t know how else it could have been to get the story across but chapter one being when they met then the rest of the book 9 years later with random flashbacks … I never felt like I knew the cause or truly felt like their tension or break up was warranted.
I received a complimentary copy of this ebook. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

I had an overall fun time with this book. It's a second chance, enemies to lovers romance.
This follows Lilah and Shane, two main characters of a hit drama sitcom. Fans love their characters and ship them big time. Lilah left a few seasons in to pursue a career in movies, but had returned 3 years later to film the last season. Although fans love them, Shane and Lilah absolutely loathe and hate eachother.
It was steamy and angsty thru out the story. I really enjoyed the opening scene between the two characters. They had great chemistry and I was really looking forward to what was in store for them. Unfortunately from there things started to loose steam for me and couldn't keep that chemistry between them strong other than physical attraction.
I didn't mind Shane as a character although flawed he was like able, I did not at all like Lilah and found her to be unkind with no likeable qualities. Other than their incredible sex I couldn't figure out why these two wanted to be together. They were both toxic to eachother,
This is my second book of Ava Wilder, I did enjoy this one more. I see Wilders writing and story building growing stronger, I'll be keeping an eye on other books of hers in the future.
Thank you to NetGalley and Random House Publishing for this advanced reader copy. My review is voluntarily my own.

A slow-burn, enemies-to-lovers, second-chance romance that is also about moving on and dealing with your vulnerabilities.
Lilah is a prickly character who struggles with anxiety, and Shane is a people-pleaser, so they aren’t the most likable duo ever; however, you do see them grow throughout the book and blossom. Versus other enemies-to-lovers books with a passionate endpoint, this one has the characters reunite gently with love and care for one another, as thirtysomethings turning the page on where they’re at with their careers and personal lives.
Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC.

I'm really digging Hollywood romances! They provide just enough escapism from the day to day while still being grounded in some kind of reality.
This one in particular was pretty angsty with the history between the FCM and the MMC. True to the title, you'll be asking yourself, "will they or won't they???" the entire time. Then eventually you'll find yourself yelling at the book, "JUST DO IT ALREADY!"
Their history spans nearly a decade and is full of wanting, lust, unrequited love, and anxiety. This has a dual timeline so you get to see them when their careers and relationship just started out and where they're at in the present. Now that they're in their 30s, and forced to go to couples therapy, they begin to work through their past and their present feelings. They have actual grown up conversations that propell their relationship forward! So refreshing!
Ava Wilder is doing romance right and I can't wait to see what she puts out next.

Well, I finished this book in one day. I couldn't put it down! It was such a perfect enemies-to-lovers, with characters that were so well developed and real. I love a Hollywood Romance, and Wilder does them so, so well. It's official, anything she writes is destined for a spot on my list of favorites.

Great lovers to enemies to lovers. Dual POV with flashbacks.
This book is a story about two actors who get casted on a hit show and end up having feelings for one another. Through a series of flashbacks you discover why their relationship ended and all the drama surrounding how they feel about each other.
I loved the FMC and related to her so much. Her challenges with her mental health and emotional openness is so relatable. The MMC is a golden retriever type of character who just wants to love. The two personalities clashing is so relatable and heartbreaking to see.
I loved the storyline and the “twist but not a twist” at the end. I only wish there was more explanation with some of the plot twists (scenarios surrounding their breakup). Sometimes it felt like it was thrown in there without any reasoning.
Overall, liked the book. Would definitely recommend.

I really struggled to not DNF. The chapters were exceptionally long and I just couldn’t fall in love with the characters.
