I actually really liked how the book started and the potential of it. But it was unnecessarily toxic most of the time, so I really liked it when they went to therapy together. But they stopped the moment it got a little better and admitted their feelings for eachother, I think it would have been great if they had continued there therapy and really work through their issues. Also both the mmc and the fmc are unlikebale, and they didn't make much progress except get together wich made it harder to read. So started out as a four star read for me but sadly ended as two star.

i loved this book !! i feel like i was reading fanfic but with better writing lmao. it was like an AU fic. the plot was good and i was really sad for a second when i thought they broke up after comic con. the one thing though is i don’t like any real life tv celebrities would get that much hype/press/media in public/real life outside the internet. but other than that love !!!
I just remember hating this book every step of the way. It was overwritten to death, I couldn’t connect to either of the characters and I just wanted to scream to them to stop sleeping together if it makes this much mess. I did finish it - wrapped up neatly - but I still found myself flipping through the slow parts….so lots of flipping.
I couldn't tell you a single demonstrated trait for either of the main characters. I just don't care!!
3.5
I think a lot of things were done well with this book - some of the insights into the characters surprised me, their chemistry was fairly believable (and I suppose a pro of the second chance trope, so much of their current push-and-pull hinges on built-up yearning), and most of all, it was the book I was looking for. An easy casual read after my slew of emotionally heavy books last month (an extra half star for just that).
I think a well-written romance novel (for the most part, at least) helps me figure out why I can’t commit to the genre. It’s almost always pristine - the characters are attracted to each other yes, but they’re also attractive to literally everybody else. Of course these two are celebrities so it makes sense but I wish I understood more about what draws them to one another. Much of the ebbs and flows of romance was neatly packaged into succinct, explanatory lines. My gripe is also with the way most of these books are written - constant dialogues, unnecessary descriptions and name-dropping of cafes/irrelevant spots/characters (is it an American thing to introduce every character with a full name? Is it just fun for authors to come up with last names or is it a way to show they have some cultural diversity without diving into who any of the characters really are?), lazy behavioural descriptions like Mr. Loves-To-Interrupt-Me or whatever. Quickly explaining their neuroses and quirks in a few paragraphs, linking it so clearly to some incident in their lives it feels like I’m reading a case study in my intro to psych class. It leaves such little room for studying the characters, developing what I think about them. I think I'm realising that stories of an instant all-consuming spark and physical connection don't do much for me. I believe the story so much more when I can feel myself anticipating the moment love knocks them off their feet. For example, I think the best chemistry these two had was towards the end, in a flashback to their younger selves - the first real will-they-won't they of their first kiss.
Don’t get me wrong - I think this author took a few really interesting turns with the story, and maybe this is just my personal meditation on why I wish I had more books to read that were easy without foregoing depth. I guess the hunt continues!

If you like second chance romance stories centered on meeting the right person at the wrong time, this one is for you. An added bonus is the excellent writing.
I loved Ava Wilder’s debut, but this one was even better. Complex and layered characters, excellent anxiety representation, the slowest of slow burns with excellent payoff, great banter and dialogue, and a riveting plot set in the world of a TV show with a cult following all made this book a knockout.
Wilder has become an auto-buy author for me. I’d read her grocery list after this one. If you’re wondering whether you should pick up one of her books, the answer is YES.

don't be surprised if you fall in love with yet another fictional man after this one.
had me asking, "will they or won't they?" up until the very end! THE ANGST!
lovers to enemies back to lovers, plus explosive chemistry between the main characters, kept me enthralled with this story.

READ THIS BOOK!
I haven't had the time to read Ava Wilders first book all the way through but after reading this one, I am 100 percent going to go back and read how to fake it in Hollywood. This book was adorable, and another one I can predict being turned into a movie and/or trending on booktok! Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for granting access to this book in exchange of my honest review.

I loved the concept of this book, but I feel like we didn't spend enough time with the characters finding their way to a re-connection. I'm also not really a fan of the dual POV that isn't quite dual POV. It just reads a little choppy.
