First Tommy & Tuppence book I've read! It was quite interesting, with wonderful characters, especially Tom and Tuppence, the two of which I simply find lovely.

Unfortunately, this is not one of Christie’s best works. It’s over-stuffed, meandering, and the characters haven’t aged well into 2021. That being said - it’s still entertaining if only because Christie is magnetic in her simple prose.
This was really just such a delight. Highly recommend!
Anyone who knows me really well must have been extremely confused when they saw I was willingly reading an Agatha Christie novel. After being forced to read The Mysterious Affairs at Styles a few years ago for school and despising it, I vowed to never pick up another Christie book. And yet here we are

The humour between Tuppence and Tommy (and the ending between them two awhh) was a great comic relief of all the events that transpired.

Petualangan pertama Tommy dan Tuppence sebagai detektif amatir! Alurnya lumayan seru dengan membawa cerita nyata di masa itu (perang dunia I) dan digabung unsur pemberontakan para buruh, benar-benar terasa nyata. Tapi dipertengahan ketika banyak penjelasan-penjelasan dipaparkan, agaknya saya kurang paham namun saya tetap saja baca sampai akhir. Bumbu romansa yang ada juga bikin greget saya sebagai pembaca. Tommy Tuppence tunggu saya di petualanganmu selanjutnya!!
