Comecei a ler esse livro aos 14 anos. Lia um pouco aqui, um pouco ali. Era pesado demais pra levar na mochila e denso demais pra ser minha única leitura, então eu o pegava apenas esporadicamente. Dois anos depois, parei de pegá-lo. A riqueza em detalhes é tão grande que a história se torna sua e a briga incansável entre os membros da banda, já quase no final do livro, me deixou com um gosto ruim na boca.
Não considerei uma desistência, apenas um até logo. Termino o livro hoje, aos 18, após uma semana sendo sugada de volta à essa estrada tão longa como a dos Beatles, contada por alguém tão profissional como Bob Spitz.

John, Paul, George and Ringo start in Liverpool and discover sex, drugs and most importantly rock-n-roll. Very readable, and a must-read for even the semi-fan.

A well researched and written biography of The Beatles giving a nice overview of the bands career with plenty of details. I don't know if this is the "definitive" biography of the band, as I haven't read all the available books! - but I would certainly recommend this one to someone on the lookout for a good read.

holy shit this was an absolute monster to get through just in terms of length and density but im blown away!!!!! so incredibly well researched and detailed, and doesn’t feel too biased unlike other bios of them i’ve read that are basically lennon idol worship. there’s so much to learn from this i don’t even know what else to say other than paul mccartney i love you
