This book was funny! I liked how Ben translated every look or phrase to what was really being conveyed. I don’t understand why I found this book on the banned bookshelf as there wasn’t anything worse than a little bit of bad decisions and disobedience and if that gets a book banned then we really are living in dystopian times.

A boy gets a fortune and wants to have the best last day ever.

This was a really cute and fun book. I wasn't expecting much from it, but it has a great message. The main character, Ben, gets a fortune cookie with the message to live like it's your last day... and that's what he does.  He ends up making a list of things he wants to do/accomplish. Of course things don't go as planned, but on his journey he inspires his family, neighbors and friends to also live like this is their last day. All of the wackiness and illustrations adds a humor and lightness to the story.

Overall, this is a fun kid's book with a great message and interesting illustrations.

This book made me absolutely cackle with laughter. It is a fantastic discussion about childhood, growing up, and just how children and adults can connect on emotional levels, even though their issues are different sizes.

I would recommend this for most kids who enjoy reading, and i may myself hunt down the other cookie books. I also recommend this, specifically for parents, with children who feel they are struggling to connect with their children.
