I might have liked TJR's debut novel a little more if I had read it before The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo and Daisy Jones & the Six.  It isn't bad, but my expectations were higher after enjoying her later novels.  If you're in the mood for a sad romance I would say give it a chance.
