I really do love this series. I do wonder how much more certain characters can take, but this is still really enjoyable, flaws and all.

Dear Tess Gerritsen, if you're reading this, I must salute you for this spectacular book. I'm utterly mindblown. I mean, a mysterious crime, an undead Jane Doe, a hospital taken hostage by a woman, an insane government conspiracy theory, a possible threat by chechen terrorists, an ex marine gone rogue and psycho, unexpected turn of events and backstabbing, a secret line of prostitution and trafficking young/underage girls.. Basically every element I look forward in a book put together in one single story. And it was well-put. Each page I turned left me more and more taken aback by the twists and surprises , and how gradually the book was getting better. And sometimes appalled by the alarming events and things that took place. They were unbelievably disturbing, I've got to admit.
I'm going to end this review by saying, this is officially my favourite thriller. Hands down. And Tess darling, you have just became one of my favourite authors.

I found Vanish to be a gripping read. This is the first Gerritsen book I have read and is part of her Rizzoli and Isles thrillers. Although Vanish is the fifth book in this series, you do not need to read the previous books in the series in order to understand and enjoy this novel.
