This book sucked me in, just like when I read it the first time in high school. The character development in the first 3/4 of the book is great but then it gives you the answer to the mystery before you realize there is a mystery.

I read it for the first time when I was 15, back then in my native Romanian language. So, I wanted to read it again now in English and with a more mature mind.
10 years later, I enjoyed it a lot more this time. Couldn’t tell if it was the original English or my increase in age that changed the way I felt about it. I enjoyed the mystery more, the gothic style.
I loved the pace and the writing style, the way the characters were built.
I’ll try to make more time to read some of my favourite classics and even a few I haven’t read before. But with all the books I discovered on bookstagram, sometimes the sheer amount of books on my shelves is overwhelming.
