Not at all well written and if I have to see the work "freaking" one more time it'll be too soon. That being said I will continue the series begrudgingly

I gave Broken Bonds by J Bree a 4/5, though I was torn between 3.5 and 4. In the end, I went with 4 because the ending peaked my interest enough that I want to read the second book to figure out what’s going on. It was a super easy read, but I have to say, the main character’s constant swearing and tone got on my nerves. It felt overdone and unnecessary, giving the book a bit of an immature vibe. Overall, it was fine—nothing amazing or mind-blowing, but enough to keep me curious for now.

I wasn't feeling this book, but I'm nosy and want to know what's gonna happen. I listened to the audiobook and have beef with the narrator, for one. Secondly, I felt like the author didn't do a good job at describing the characters. I think I only recall Oleander seeing a photo of Gabe and thinking, 'oh wow, an 8-pack hottie!' and that was about all the crumbs we were fed on appearances. I also remember looking at the progress bar of the book and being 75% of the way and nothing happening. She was still having a rough time at school, and she wasn't opening up to anyone about anything -- not even the reader.. I felt like I was just walking in the dark with this. But as I mentioned already, I'm nosy, and I want to know what will come of the bonds.
