Reread #1 Update:

do i see why people dislike dainn? absolutely. would it be healthier if i was one of those people? probably. oh well.

Original Review:

This was so so good. Not at all my usual preferred type of romance, and I put it off for a while just because I knew it was a lot darker than the other books in the series, but honestly, I wish I read this earlier because it was just so addicting. Lyla and Dainn... I LOVE THEM YOUR HONOUR. I knew their story would be fantastic, and it completely lived up to my expectations!

I need the next book now, I just know the conclusion to this series is going to destroy me. Anyway, can't wait for Dainn and a certain long lost brother to meet... It's gonna be so intense LOL

Dear RuNyx, what have you done to me? I'm so speechless right now. I honestly don't know how to properly describe the things that this book did to me. It was so good that it took my breath away!!! This book wrecked me so hard and it pretty much consumed me. I was able to finish everything in just 3 hours because I was so obsessed!

Let me start my review by saying that Shadowman and Lyla have officially became one of my fav couples in the series. Their romance is so twisted yet delicious at the same time. Even their smut is the hottest in the series. Shadowman serving unhinged boy obsessed is something that I never knew I needed. That man would do anything for his woman. Not only him, but Lyla also shared the same level of possessiveness. The chemistry between these two is totally off the chart and I love them so much!!

After rotting in bed for 5 days and binge-reading this series I'm speechless. Perhaps because this is not a goodbye yet but a see you later kind of valediction.
BUT GOD THIS BOOK. This book is like seeing the light at the end of a very dark tunnel, a glimmer of hope and sunshine ahead. It hit me very hard. This is no doubt the darkest book in the series yet (I have my doubts The Syndicater could be worse), it was painful, it was raw, and it was devastating.
That one scene in the first chapters where Lyla served them all, minutes away from doing what she tried to do...reading her mind at the time broke something in me, and after it? This book made me feel a lot, it made me bawl my eyes out at one in the morning wondering how someone could have the will to live through all that.
And the Shadow Man...I won't defend him (much) considering who he is but I can say that I get him. While he does not have a normal and functional moral compass, I understand him and his actions (to a certain degree). This man is also a goddamn mastermind, and god only knows how much I enjoyed the game he has been playing.
Shadow Man and Lyla were something else in comparison to the other couples.
I'm just disappointed RuNyx saved the long and overdue reunion for the last book, knowing we were so close to getting, two days away, that opening end, and so much promise ahead...IT DROVE ME INSANE OK. I can't wait for the last book whenever it comes out (I have hopes this might be the year but perhaps it's wishful thinking). Until then, see you later.
