Great new Christmas book - released this year in honor of the 100th anniversary of the WWI Christmas truce. Read it to my family this season and enjoyed it.

This book was so surprising to me. How could this have actually happened? I definitely was left with wondering and wanting to find out more and read more to learn about this event. This book was awesome for kids to read.

Read this for the second time and and was really moved by the Christmas Truce of 1914. What a night and light of hope this must have been for the troops to witness in their miserable conditions and difficult times that Christmas day. Like the young writer in the letters said "what else could create such spontaneous peace but the hand of God himself?" This makes me want to watch the movie Joyeux Noel again.

Excellent picture book about the World War I Christmas truce of 1914. Don't miss the author's note at the end.

My younger son's favourite Christmas book, we read it every year. A moving recounting of the Christmas Truce. We love all the books by this author we've read.

Made my eyes misty--such a beautiful thing that happened for a brief night of peace in the midst of WWI.

Awesome book. Very cool story. Too bad the world can't take a lesson from this and learn to get along.
