I love this group of pensioners and their ragtag group of friends. So glad to find out at the end in the author’s acknowledgements that this wasn’t the end of the series!

“Love can mean so many different things, can’t it? And just because it’s precious doesn’t mean it can’t be tough.”

“The Last Devil To Die” by Richard Osman brings the quartet of sleuths back on the case with another murder in the fourth book of the #thursdaymurderclub series.

With a race between The Thursday Murder Club and police force to beat the new division in solving the case, tensions are tight. Beneath the fake antiques and masterminding, the book looks at the passage of time and our brevity of existence.

“People find all sorts of things to give their brief lives meaning…valiant efforts all, but everyone knows, deep, deep down, that life is both a random occurrence and a losing battle.”

This one was a bit more somber than his other books but still a stellar read! I love my tradition of reading one of the series books every fall. Looking forward to the fifth one out later this month! Also the movie for the first book is great!

Took a while to get into, but the second half was great, really satisfying ending and some great character development. Always enjoyable to be back at Cooper’s Chase ❤️.
