I wanted to like this book, it had great potential, but it's just not my style. Too much smut, not enough story. And what story it had was blah and boring. I do not reccomend

For all those newcomers, it's not 100% necessary to read the other in the Fixed Series to read Chandler but I strongly recommend it. The emotional ties to characters and even background will help your retention and investment in the story.

For those that are well aware of Hudson Pierce, meet Chandler the previously lesser known Pierce.

Chandler is a bunch of things Hudson is not. I love the differences between the two. Laurelin Paige made Chandler his own man instead of a rough cookie cutter version of Hudson. (We all know that 85% if not more would have read that anyway and loved it.) Chandler may be a Pierce but he's not a Pierce you've read before.

Goofy, play boy with a sex god complex...perhaps
Insatiable need to be the best...at certain *wink* things
Plays the part well...that's the real question

No one has ever looked past the happy go lucky Chandler veneer. No one thought to question his behavior- only reprimand him. But one beauty at a gala and Chandler is literally spinning. His mind, body, and spirit are left twisting in the wind.

She isn't interested though and Chandler has never had that happen. Know what else, Chandler has never lead a chase like this one!

I love that Chandler is clearly not a stick in the mud. I love the spunky personality, the need to make things fun, and his loyalty/love for his family. He is the light to Hudson's dark.

His story is a new favorite. He may not replace Hudson in spank bank material but he gets his own pedestal to stand on! What a ride...now be a good girl/boy and one click so Chandler can show you just how much like Hudson he CAN be.

We first met Chandler as the youngest Pierce in the Fixed Trilogy as the flirty teen. Then we saw him all grown up in Find Me. After that trilogy, I desperately needed a story for Chandler. Now he’s back with his own story and it didn’t disappoint. He was a charming playboy with a chip on his shoulder after getting his heart broken. He was over and done with love until he was stunned by Genevieve. He was instantly captivated by her beauty and presence. She made him question everything he thought he knew. Despite Genny’s initial brush off, there was something undeniable about her and Chandler was tenacious in doing any and everything to get her attention.
I loved the way Genevieve challenged Chandler and made him work for her especially since he wasn’t used to that. Their banter, chemistry, the sexy games, holy hotness these two together were just fire!! In typical Laurelin Paige fashion there’s the twist you never see coming that changes everything. She knows just what to do to keep me on my toes and I am truly obsessed everything she writes.
I loved being back in the Fixed Universe, it is one of my favorite places so of course I hated to see Chandler and Genevieve’s story end. Oh my word, then deep delectable timber of Joe Arden narrating?? The way he could switch the both the tone and accent of Genevieve blew me away. What a truly amazing read and listen Chandler was!

I've spent the night reading this book, and as usual I've loved it just like any other Paige novel I've read. I can't believe that the author once again made me fall for the insta-love trope. HOW DARE SHE!!!!!
I loved Chandler and Genevieve's love story. It's different, it's exciting, and definitely heartwarming. It's one of those romance novels that makes you happily sigh.

I LOVED this book. I'm actually really surprised, but I think this might be my favorite book from this Fixed universe. At least, so far. I'm reading this entire series out of order, so WHO CAN SAY.

I started with the first Fixed book with Hudson and Alayna, and then skimmed through the second one, and then months later started back with this series with the Slay books. What's funny is that I didn't know how much the fourth Slay book, Rising, overlaps with this book - Chandler. So, it was really interesting to read this book after reading Slay and seeing where Chandler and Genevieve fit into the story.

Content notes include misogyny, a weird bit about a girl getting confused if she was still gay after having sex with Chandler (she told him she was most definitely gay later on) but that whole bit was weird, and ableism.

One interesting thing about listening to the audiobook though, is that Joe Arden does a fantastic job. And it does help that I knew this book was published about 3-4 years before the Slay books, because bless his heart, Joe Arden makes Edward sound like a very NOT sexy, very old man instead of the hot man we've come to know (aka a young father when he had Hagan and Genevieve).

So, this book might be an unintentional comedy? I was laughing SO HARD because Chandler is just some young 24-year-old who falls in love too fast. And he's head over heels for Genevieve from their very first meeting. This book is very sexy and Chandler is very much known for his playboy ways, but he's also like an overactive puppy. He's just so sweet and caring??? I love Chandler. He's a little full of himself and what he thinks sex should be, but I can let that slide.

This book is told from a first-person POV, and I don't know what it is. I think Joe Arden added a lot to the story, because him reading as Chandler was just the best thing and adds a whole other layer to the book. I think his voices for the other characters were fine and his Genevieve was pretty good.

I mistakenly thought Chandler's book was a novella for some reason, and it wasn't until I was halfway through thinking that this seemed to be going long, but I finally realized this was a full-length novel. After reading the Slay series, this was the light-hearted book I needed, but still carries the kind of sex scenes we expect from Laurelin Paige.

This book has kinky sex, but Chandler is definitely new to the whole thing and feeling it all out. It scares him that he's into kink, because it's not something he knew about himself before, but with Genevieve, all of that changes. Genevieve is a child of Edward and his first wife, so is it any surprise she's into some light kink? I don't think so.

What I loved most about this book is that Chandler is definitely worried about what he's doing in all these sex scenes with Genevieve. He values consent a LOT and makes sure that Genevieve always has a way out and that she can say stop, and he'll definitely listen stop no matter what they're doing. I want more books with such explicit consent, because scenes can still be sexy with it!

What's definitely funny, or is it weird - that two very sexual scenes happen while Edward is in the room? They're discreet, and Edward definitely doesn't know anything happened, but Genevieve is BOLD. Chandler trying to get away with something while Hudson's unaware seems like a thing Chandler would definitely do (and he does) but Genevieve? That took me by surprise.

It's also kind of weird to read from Edward's POV in the Slay books and now learn about all the things his daughter is getting up to without him ever being the wiser. So, I would probably recommend reading this book before the Slay books.

Even though this is a book from Chandler's POV, I'm still glad we got to see Genevieve sticking up for herself against her dad, and how much she values being her own person. The dig against her mom makes me kind of sad, but only because we've come to know so much more about Edward's relationship with Genevieve's mother in the later series, I think. I adore that Chandler calls Genevieve "Genny" and that Chandler can be such a good match for her. She deserves to find happiness and with a guy who loves her as much as Chandler obviously does.

There is a tiny bit of added drama and heartbreak at the end, but it's fine. The characters are young, so miscommunication was bound to happen at some point. Especially when the topic of Celia comes up in conversation.

I'm that person who follows along with a book with the ebook open and listening to the audiobook at the same time...and I think we should acknowledge that the book has been edited since the first edition and the audio was produced. There's some minor tweaks in the text that wasn't in the audiobook - like the color of Hudson's eyes and Mirabelle (Chandler's sister) having a second child called Tyler. So that was interesting to catch.

We do see Hudson and Alayna in this book and their adorable children. Since I have not actually finished reading their books, I'm not sure which child was who's but all the kids were adorable. It's also somewhat endearing to see how utterly exhausted Hudson is watching after the kids. Would I like to see Mirabelle's story or Hagan's? I'm not saying no. Because I don't think we ever got Mirabelle's story? And I don't know what Hagan would add if we got his book, but if Laurelin Paige can convince me to like Celia, then I'm sure she can work her magic and give me something to like about Hagan at some point.

Overall, I really loved this book and can't wait to read more books set in this universe!
