Für seine Zeit ein sehr feministisches Werk mit einer starken und eigenwilligen Protagonistin.
Manchmal fällt sie für mich zu erwachsene Entscheidungen (sie ist 18-19!), aber das hat vielleicht etwas mit der starken Gottesfürchtigkeit und die Angst um ihr Seelenheil zu tun.
War sehr unterhaltsam, hatte auch seine langatmigen Momente.
Ich mochte ihre Dialoge mit Mr. Rochester bei denen sie oft pfiffig und frech war :-D

Three stars for the experience of reading this. It was fun to re-read, when I haven’t properly read Jane Eyre since college. A lot of the quirks from the time this was written are a little funny now, honestly, and I had many good laughs. Five stars for the experience of listening to the audiobook, read by Thandie Newton, who does the voices.
