This book is a little different than TL swans usual style. Not in a bad way. I’d call this a mafia light romance. Has a little violence, but certainly more gentle than most of the mafia romances I’ve read in the past.

I never thought I'd enjoy a mafia romance but surprisingly I really liked this one! The Italian is supposed to be a stand alone novel by T.L. Swan but a second book, called Ferrara, is coming out sometime this year! If the name Ferrara sounds familiar to you, it's probably because you've heard the name in the Miles High Club series - the Ferraras own a media company whom are Miles Media's archenemy.

I don't know much about mafias but I thought the plot was interesting and it kept my interest the whole time. It got fast-paced and suspenseful towards the end. I could totally visualize all of the scenes in my head - so I have no doubt this would be a good movie adaption.

I've noticed that Swan likes to use domineering, controlling men as the H in her books. I know it's a turn off to some people but for the most part it doesn't bother me. I can see how it can be triggering for some people.

Overall this was an entertaining read - I liked that it was more plot-driven so it wasn't all steam like Swan's books usually are.

I could not put this book down! It had over the top DRAMA, a completely unrealistic and unpredictable story line, so much ANGST and glorious STEAM!

TL Swan does it again.
I really enjoyed this entire story, Mafia, danger, ahhh my sweet spot. Italy itself felt like a character in this story. Recommended reading and can't wait to get to the rest of this series.

I really do enjoy mafia stories and this one was a refreshing take on it. I loved the characters and how their story started. My only issue was that all the action really happened in the last 50 pages and it was so slow to build up to it that some story plots felt unneeded or not well thought out and were just added in to add some drama and then the ending was just rushed. Still really enjoyed this series and how it linked to the Miles High Club (was bugging me until it was revealed!). Would definitely recommend this book.
