A quick, very satisfying read I found through a Storygraph recommendation. Clearly, this app knows me well by now. ;) It took me a few pages to get into the story. But once I was familiar with the protagonists, I was hooked! I loved the way the artist played with monochrome color palettes and the witty banter in the dialogue. The storyline was simple, but the suspense was real! Definitely going to pick up #2 in the series.

It's a weird book. A lot darker than I thought it would be. Felt like the target audience was all over the place, it was a little Scooby Doo/Hardy Boys/Nancy Drew but then there's a sharp left turn. A nice subversion of the standard evil witch stereotype though
