Loved it!

I loved this story. I loved getting to know Smoke. There were some omg moments that definitely got a little crazy but I loved how Frankie and Smoke learn to love together. All the little side characters like Zelda, Rage, King, etc just made the story flow and develop. I can’t wait for Nine!

OK so I had to take away a star for the rushed ending. Once we get the full story I felt like it was rushed. Maybe it's just me but whatever. I was so happy to see my boys making cameos although I'm sad he women didn't make an appearance. Except Rage. Rage is my favorite female by far.

Up in smoke

Up in smoke was phenomenal. Frankie was a bad A and I Love that she didn’t take any crap from smoke. I loved her sassy, firey spirit. I was surprised by smoke... I kinda expected him to be a little more like rage but I’m not sure anyone is like rage. For all his hard talk he definitely had somewhat of a soft spot for Frankie from the start. I also loved the ending but I won’t spoil that for anyone. Read it and find out for yourself ;)

4 stars.

Listened to this on audiobook. Really liked Smoke's narrator, Frankie's, I've listened to before and she's fine but she's not my favorite narrator.

Another good installment to this series. This one and the first book in the series (King) are probably my least favorites but this was still really enjoyable.

For almost half of this story, Smoke and Frankie have no romantic interest/chemistry. Which works because Frankie is an abducted woman and Smoke is her kidnapper.

It did annoy more though that
SpoilerSmoke slept with someone else, in front of Frankie, after there had been movement toward lust. Frankie was attracted to Smoke, even though he had kidnapped her, and was setting about seducing him. Well they were interrupted and Smoke goes and picks up a random woman to bring back. He has sex with her and Frankie is still handcuffed to the bed. It's never brought up again and Smoke the whole time didn't care at all about the woman he was with he just watched Frankie. So while they weren't together and it wasn't cheating, they were a lot more together than they had been.

I'm almost done reading/listening to this series, only have Rage's book and the prequel to this series (I think it's a prequel anyway) but then I'm all caught up until Nine comes out. So excited for that!

The beginning was a little slow for me compared to all the other books in the series. I get why we had to read some of it, but I would've loved more action. Once the action started, I loved it! Smoke really has had a rough upbringing and it really explains why he is the way he is. I'm glad Rage and him cleared things up. I know he had a hard time dealing with what happened between them from her book. They were a good team.

“I love him. The good, the bad, the violent, the brutal, and the bloody. I love all of him.”

Smoke

I liked Smoke and Frankie’s story. It was everything grimy, suspenseful and sexy. I have enjoyed all of TM Frazier’s books. They can be read over and over again.

"Hope may feel like the beginning, but it will gut you in the end."

When I first met Smoke in the King series I was crazy intrigued by him, so I was excited when I learned that he would be getting his own story. I have a thing for anti-heroes/villains, and Smoke is one for sure. I liked how the book started and the little pieces to the puzzle the author was providing me throughout the story. There were a couple of twists which I was expecting because at the end of the day this is a TM Frazier book, and she loves to hit readers with plot twists. Some of them I predicted others I was surprised by (which is always a good thing).

"It's only fair that I break you, since you've already broken me."

The blurb gives you a good idea of what to expect from this book. I liked Frankie's determination and loved that she didn't give up. Smoke is definitely not one of the easiest person to communicate with, but Frankie saw through his hard and mysterious character. She was scared but didn't let that stop her from fighting for her life. There were times it got rough and dark but I liked it. She didn't make it easy on Smoke, he had to work hard to figure her out and discover her secrets.

"I want you. Just as you are. Bloody beautiful, Smoke."

Up in Smoke was a great addition to the King series. Also I loved that many of the previous (main) characters made appearances in this book. Especially Rage and Nine played somewhat of an important role in this book. Seeing Nine coming into his own makes me pretty excited for his book to release. The only reason I didn't give this book a full 4 star is because I was just missing seeing them develop as a couple more. Fans of this series will for sure enjoy this book as well.

I’m going to keep this review short and sweet.

Smoke is everything.

I’ve been waiting a long time for his story and this book was definitely worth the wait. I loved the push and pull between Smoke and Frankie. They have explosive chemistry and I loved how strong Frankie was given her circumstances. I did enjoy getting more back story on Smoke as well. Reading his story about his upbringing made me want to hug him. Especially when we find out the reason behind his nickname.

This book was definitely kept me on the edge of my seat. I loved the suspense aspect of the story and wasn’t expecting the plot twists that Frazier delivered throughout this story. My jaw dropped at one part and I was like that how you do it! One of my favorite things about this story was that we received closure and I need that in this book and Frazier didn’t let me down. I enjoyed catching up with this colorful cast of characters. It was like catching up with old friends. This was a well written story that I’m so sad it’s over but as I stated before it was definitely worth the wait. So much for keeping this review short and sweet......
