MHC books will always be comfort food for me. When I read her books I am transported to a different era; with fax machines, personal ads, land lines...A fabulous and simpler era. The storyline, her dedication to details and characters, the plot, the sequence of events just *Chef's kiss*
Her books will always be comfort food for me❤️

MHC has a way of making you think all the characters are sus. Got my heart pounding in the end

It's the first Mary Higgins Clark book I've read, but definitely not the last. What a great book! I have to tell you, I figured out "whodunnit" early on, but was shocked to find out that I misread the clues.

this was the first book by mary higgins clark that i ever read, and although the actual mystery is quite obvious, the aura has haunted me years afterward.

I have read quite a few Mary Higgins Clark books. I remember loving them, but only remember a few of their names. I can not forget this one. It is still to this day, my favorite mystery/suspense. Well written, brilliant. I love it.

Highly engrossing mystery. Lots of twist and turns to keep you guessing until the end. This is why Clark is known as the queen of suspense, keeping readers hooked until the very end.
