Look Where We Live! is an introductory book about participating in your community.

It contains a tour of a community that is participating in a street fair and fundraising event for its library. The book travels across the important places in town, including local businesses, important resources for people in need such as a retirement home, the park, community garden, police station, and so on. The diversity of the characters highlights the strengths that each individual brings to the table to help his or her community.

Each section includes a small part of the story that highlights a particular part of the community, an illustration to accompany it, and a couple sentences in bold that link the story to the reader's community with a question to keep them engaged.

Bonus material includes a fun activity for a puzzle and a glossary of community-related terms.

I received a free digital ARC via NetGalley.

A nice introduction to conscientious community life for kids. Good for a community unit, and starting a larger conversation about community. Hits on topics not always covered (pets aren't allowed in restaurants and that's okay, public buildings usually have restrooms that can be used by anyone who needs it, communities dont just have to be a place (I'm thinking of the online communities that have developed, though that conversation could go anywhere), etc) and the members of the community in this book are visibly diverse.

This is a cute and fun informative book for children about communities. The story follows five friends and their dog as they enjoy a street fair that is raising money for their local library. Including a yard sale, car wash, community clean up, a lemonade stand at a retirement home,a community garden and lots of fun activities the multicultural group of children experience their community and have lots of fun. The book ends with an art activity and a glossary. I like the bright, colorful illustrations and think this book will be fun to read and use in schools and homes. I received this book free to review from Netgalley.

I received this as an E-ARC from Netgalley in return of an honest review;
Very nice children's book can learn about the community. It has a nice simple storyline, nice pictures and the book offers small quest for the children along the way. Very nice, not too hard to read. It was great.
