An ode to loneliness, language, identity and academia. To wanting to be understood by yourself and yearning to be understood and loved by others.

Han Kang is a magnificent writer, the poetical lyricism of the book and how it ties up with the strange characters; their characteristic sense of dread has me baffled. These same characters are so unique but so broadly relatable and the way the writer uses these very “quirks” to signify a very universal feeling is very compelling.

Its a rather short book that doesn’t really have any conclusion or any kind of solid course of development, but i greatly think this is where its charm lies; on the impossibility of it all and the way it constructed a feeling you can’t easily shake off.

I am super glad I read this, defffffffff will be reading more of her work.
