I was so excited that there was a second book and this one is just as amazing as the first. This one focused on the titanic which was interesting but I did love every minute of it. This book continues 6 months after where the first book ended. It starts all over again when Sam sees a spirit. Which she knows is never a good thing. That's just the beginning of a fun adventurous ride.

Haunting the Deep was a worthy follow-up to How to Hang a Witch, particularly with the Titanic tie-in. It was a decent, quick read. I will be curious to see where Mather might go next, in terms of ghostly topics, should she decide to continue this series.

First off, I should totally apologize to the person I was going to buddy read this book with because I totally forgot about reading this book and I missed the deadline to add my comments! Just know that I read this book and I loved it!

Okay, so Haunting the Deep follows right where How to Hang a Witch left off. Sam is still trying to recover from what happened during the salem witch trials. However, she can't seem to put the ghosts nor the magic behind her. Oh no, she starts dreaming about the Titanic. THE REAL TITANIC GUYS! And now I really want to watch the movie..

SpoilerNot only is she dreaming about what happened.. her school magically starts teaching about it as well. Funny how things work like that. However, Sam isn't alone on this journey. Nope, she never is. She has to ally back up with the Descendants and somehow get Elijah, who's a ghost by the way, to tag along as well. Seems easy as pie, right?

I loved the hell out of this book because we finally get to see Sam's freaking relationship with her dad because he isn't in a god damn coma anymore! However, there's a strain on her relationship with her dad, and her best friend Jaxon, because she's trying to keep everyone at arm's length. When really she should just tell everyone what the hell is going on. I mean, they might think she's crazy as fuck but eh.. isn't she?

Speaking of Jaxon, I love him. He's so funny and I wish him and Sam were on good terms throughout most of this book because then I would have seen more of him. However, that wasn't the case which made me kind of sad. Besides that I wish I would have gotten more stuff happening between her and Elijah too! Other than that, I'm glad that her and the Descendants worked together throughout this whole new curse of Sam's. They seem to be coming closer and closer together which I approve because what better way to have friendships that last through fighting curses.. right?

Overall, I loved this book - I just wish I got more scenes with certain characters.

3.5 Stars follow up to How to Hang a Witch, good story overall. Again it’s not a great book. But fun and entertaining. I like how the characters from the previous book carry over to this book. I like their dynamic. It’s fun to see how they tied the feeling of Salem and the Titanic together. Give it a read.
