Stepping Up

An excellent light read. So many storylines and characters that all came together in the end. Excellent pacing.

Beth is a serial quitter and has absolutely no follow- through but when a terrible accident occurs, she becomes the guardian of a teenager and a toddler which forces her to "step up" overnight

Okay, I feel really bad for saying it but I found this book extremely boring. I'd forced myself through more than 50% before I became remotely interested in the story. I really enjoyed it by 75%. I liked Beth a lot, loved the dynamic of her being a mess yet trying her best to care for her sister's kids, loved the friendship between her and her ancient neighbour, loved her sweet dad. Jory was fine too.

Overall, it took entirely too long for me to become invested in the story.
