So well done that I kept forgetting I was reading a Lyndsay Faye novel, and not an original Conan Doyle story. Thrilling to read and wonder how it might all play out, and if true at least to the history of the Ripper, how would he have eluded Holmes? Also the humor was spot-on, dry and delightful, and I loved Miss Monk.

Exceptional story, interweaving the spirits of Holmes and Jack the Ripper. Entertaining, and with a voice that is Watson to the core.

The story is good but for me it lacked climax. It had one, I just didn't feel like it was good enough in perportion to the rest of the story. And I guessed who the killer is and where we've seen him before very soon after a profile started to emerge so maybe the first placement of the killer was too obvious. But otherwise it was an enjoyable read.

Really well-researched and just the right amount of creepiness. Thumbs up.

The narrator for this audiobook was fantastic and the story too. I haven't read any other by Lyndsay Faye, but the characters and plot were tight. I was completely pulled along by the story and will be looking for her other books.

A fitting Sherlock Holmes tale in the classic style. One of the best I've read!
